The roles in this programme tend to run on a 12 week placement with a view to securing a permanent role at the end of that period. Although it’s not guaranteed, 96% of our candidates who join the programme go on to secure permanent roles with their host organisation.

Help deliver vital infrastructure while building strong relationships with communities.

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Wayleave Warden to join our team and support the successful delivery of major construction and infrastructure projects across Scotland’s Central Belt.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with landowners, customers, site teams, subcontractors and local authorities to ensure projects are delivered safely, responsibly and with minimal disruption. What you’ll be doing

As our Wayleave Warden, you’ll play a key role in coordinating site access and maintaining positive relationships with everyone involved in our projects. Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, landowners (grantors) and other stakeholders.
• Coordinating access arrangements for construction activities across multiple sites.
• Working alongside engineers, site managers and project teams to plan safe, practical access routes and working areas.
• Supervising subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
• Monitoring health, safety and environmental requirements, helping to ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures.
• Identifying potential risks and supporting the development of safe systems of work.
• Coordinating permissions and approvals with local authorities, highways authorities and other external organisations where required.
• Supporting the delivery of projects by responding to day-to-day enquiries and resolving issues quickly and professionally.
• Helping protect the environment by ensuring agreed agricultural and ecological requirements are followed.

 You may have experience in:

• Stakeholder or customer engagement
• Events or venue management
• Project coordination or project support
• Property or housing
• Utilities or infrastructure
• Construction or civil engineering
• Land, rural or environmental services
• Operations management
• Account management
• Finance or business administration
• Local government or public sector roles

Experience within wayleaves, land access or utilities is advantageous but not essential, as training and support will be provided. The most important qualities are the ability to communicate effectively, develop trusted relationships and confidently coordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
