A supported return-to-work programme designed for professionals re-entering STEM in Australia.
Bringing Untapped Talent Back to STEM
In July 2020, we launched STEM Returners Australia, expanding our successful UK programme to support professionals returning to STEM careers after a career break.
Led by Marcail Roe, a two-time return-to-work mum who understands the challenges of re-entering the workforce, STEM Returners Australia is committed to breaking down barriers and redefining career gaps.
With major government investment in Defence and a rapidly growing technology sector, thousands of new STEM roles are expected to be created over the coming decades, meaning that now is the time to drive change. Our programme provides a structured, supported pathway for experienced professionals to return to STEM, while helping employers fill critical skill gaps with diverse and highly skilled talent.

Rethinking Career Gaps
STEM Returners Australia challenges traditional hiring practices by helping employers see career gaps as opportunities rather than obstacles. The programme offers a new talent pipeline, giving businesses access to skilled professionals who are ready to return.
Employers in STEM industries, particularly in engineering, defence, manufacturing, and technology, operate in a highly skills-short market. Through our returners’ programme, businesses can recruit talented individuals who bring experience, fresh perspectives, and problem-solving skills to their teams.
