The roles in this programme tend to run on a 12 week work placement with a view to securing a permanent role at the end of that period. Although it’s not guaranteed, 96% of our candidates who join the programme go on to secure permanent roles with their host organisation.

Skillset and Experience:

  • Town planning and/or Infrastructure project planning experience
  • Effective stakeholder engagement/management experience
  • Experience coordinating/managing environmental impact assessment suppliers
  • Effective communication skills – written, verbal and face to face.
  • Project management skills
  • Contract management experience

 Any required qualifications:

  • No specific qualifications – skills and experience are key here.

Outline of initial work/role to be undertaken during the 12 week placement:

Candidates will spend some time getting familiar with the team and the project they will be working on. Initially the candidate will get themselves familiar with the businesses ‘Approach to Consenting’ and any key project documents. Initial tasks could include shadowing and attending Consents team meetings, attending stakeholder meetings alongside the project team including local planning authorities, PINS etc , involvement with environmental supplier discussions, technical review of documents and engagement with engineering colleagues to ensure emerging project designs are compliant with the projects agreed consents approach. Work may include research on technical issues or working with other teams to source and secure agreed approaches for how the projects will proceed.

Location(s)/ Working hours and pattern :

  • Flexible location – Hybrid working. Your projects will be based across the country so you will largely work remotely, but need the ability to be able to travel when required. Project teams will often come together in central locations such as Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, London collaborate in person.
  • Full time and part time working available.
