The role is a 6 months paid and benefited returnship which is aimed at providing you with the necessary extensive internal resources to support your return to paid work. During your time with us, you will be provided with an opportunity to use your specialist skills, expertise, interests, and abilities on meaningful projects.  Following the 6 months returnship, successful participants may be eligible for full time employment opportunities.

We are looking for two talented Mechanical Design Engineers to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems organization in Cwmbran, United Kingdom.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support the development, testing, validation, and continuous improvement of products and engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and deliver project objectives.
  • Apply engineering principles and problem-solving techniques to support product performance, reliability, and quality.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, design reviews, and product improvement initiatives.
  • Share knowledge and support a collaborative, inclusive team environment while continuing to develop technical expertise.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to learn and develop in a technical environment.
